Vintage mid century modern saber leg walnut dining table by Widdicomb, made in the United States in 1957. With the two included extensions it reaches a maximum length of 96 inches. This, combined with the Parsons style placement of the legs, allows for 10 guests to sit comfortably.
The tabletop consists of bookmatched walnut panels mirrored across the center seam, punctuated by cross-banded sections in the middle. Sweeping cathedral grain lines of the top and leaves contrast with the tight, straight-grain patterns on the legs and apron.
The legs show a Robsjohn-Gibbings signature flourish – a slight outward curve at the bottom that makes designs like his iconic slipper chair so recognizable.
The table has been fully refinished and shows beautifully. It comes with a set of protective pads that the prior owners had made.
