The painting depicts the mortal princess Psyche being carried away by her lover, the God Cupid, to a celestial realm. After undergoing a series of nearly impossible trials set by Aphrodite, Psyche was granted immortality by Jupiter (Zeus) and became the Greek Goddess of the Soul. The painting is a classic example of Academic Realism, showcasing the artist's focus on human figure painting and mythological themes. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner,' Wengpe.'

We purchased the painting rolled up and gently stretched it around this frame for safer storage and better photography. Professional framing would be a better long-term solution and would elevate the fine artwork, as the canvas is soft linen and not as taut as it could be. See less
