This piece was created during the heyday of the glamorous art deco revival of that decade.

the sculptural lamp features a masterfully hand-painted pierrot bust (“hand painted ceramics of italy”). This expressive character from the commedia dell’arte captivates with exquisite details: a finely shaded ruff in delicate pastel pinks, a high-gloss black cap, and a three-dimensional white rose in his hand. The characteristic painted tear beneath the eye lends the figure its classically poetic touch.

weighing in at a substantial 3.4 kg, the lamp showcases the typically heavy, thick-walled craftsmanship for which vicenze was world-renowned in the veneto region. While this particular example has lost its original paper label over the decades (a perfectly normal phenomenon with these adhesive labels), the design is unequivocally documented and attributed through identical comparable pieces.
