Blue and white transferware bowls that were part of a larger collection of vintage china gathered to be used by … Read more Blue and white transferware bowls that were part of a larger collection of vintage china gathered to be used by artist Tawny Chatmon in her studio. As part of her current artistic practice, Chatmon incorporates broken china into her works. These bowls, and many others, however, were intact, and rather than breaking them for use in the studio, she has chosen to offer them to someone who may appreciate them as additions to a collection. These bowls were a part of a larger collection of Currier and Ives by Royal China, but are unstamped on the bottom so we are unsure if they are Currier and Ives, or in the style of Currier and Ives. During research, we found that other examples of this same size have also been found without markings and attributed to Currier and Ives.

Each bowl features a farm scene at its center surrounded by figures, animals, and a horse-drawn cart. The imagery is framed by a blue transferware border composed of patterns, scrollwork, and decorative edging.

These bowls are being offered in a group for those seeking replacements, additions to an existing set, display pieces, etc. Please view our other listings, as we have broken these and others into smaller groups in case a buyer doesn't need them all.

Condition
Good vintage condition with light age-related wear consistent with use and age. Minor variations and imperfections. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. There is a tiny chip or indentation on one of the bowls, small glaze mark flaws, but they are in overall great condition.
