Pair of oversized weathered terra cotta planters, circa 1970-1990, with exceptional pitted limestone finish. Cylindrical form with gently tapered sides and thick, heavily eroded rim as seen in your detail photos. The surface shows incredible age: deep pocking, pitting, and erosion exposing the aggregate underneath, layered with tones of cream, pale gray, sage, and hints of blue-green copper staining.
The texture is rough, porous, and organic like ancient limestone that sat in a French garden for decades. The close-up shows the classic "algae-stained, weathered stone" look.
These are substantial statement pieces - perfect flanking entry doors, fireplace hearth, or as floor planters in modern organic interiors. The patina reads both French country and wabi-sabi. Sold as a matching pair with natural variation in weathering that makes them feel collected, not manufactured.
