This work of glass art is a light teal layered glass with drawings of people silhouetted in navy blue made using the Graal technique. It has a hot pink rim. Very unique!
9" H, 4" W
The Graal technique is a complex Swedish glassblowing method developed in 1916 at Orrefors, involving layering colored glass, cooling it, engraving or etching a design, and then re-casing it in clear glass before reheating and blowing it into a final shape. This process suspends the design within the glass, creating a three-dimensional, luminous effect that blurs the engraved imagery.
