The ivory wool ground is animated by spontaneous, painterly motifs in turquoise, violet, dusty rose, and terracotta — a composition that is entirely unique to this piece, as no two Boujad rugs are ever alike.
The Boujad tradition originates from the city of the same name in the Khouribga province of Morocco. These rugs are celebrated for their expressive, freeform designs rooted in feminine Berber symbolism and oral visual memory. Unlike the geometric rigor of Beni Ourain or Azilal rugs, Boujad pieces carry a narrative, abstract quality that translates seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
The pile is thick and luxuriously soft underfoot. The wool is natural and undyed in the ivory ground, with vibrant natural and synthetic dyes used in the motifs. This piece is in new condition — never used, no odor, no repairs.
Dimensions: 78 inches x 118 inches (6'6" x 9'10") / 200 x 300 cm. Sourced directly from Moroccan craftswomen through an established import relationship with artisan cooperatives in Casablanca. A certificate of origin is available upon request.
