Toshi Yoshida (July 25,1911-July 1, 1995) was a Japanese printmaking artist whose long struggle to distinguish himself from his famous landscape artist Father, Hiroshi Yoshida, took a total break from his past and from naturalism. From 1954 to 1973, Yoshida made three hundred nonobjective prints. From 1971-1994, until the last years of his life, Toshi worked exclusively on animal prints.
The woodblock print entitled "Stone Lanterns" was originally printed in 194l and pencil signed. It was posthumously printed later with a block signature.
