The center well is hand-painted with a lush floral spray framed by sweeping blue leaves and paired pomegranate motifs, a composition that reads as both formal and slightly wild — red tendrils curling against white ground with the confident looseness of a trained hand working fast. The reticulated border, pierced in uniform arched slots and painted with alternating blue and red sprigs, transforms what might otherwise be a purely functional form into something architectural. The elegant scrolled feet with gilt detailing lift the bowl from the table and complete the drama.
Acquired from a Paris flea market — one of those finds you simply cannot walk away from. The gilt shows a little honest rub, which only makes it look more convincingly itself: less precious, more real, unmistakably antique.
Use it as a fruit compote, a centerpiece bowl, or the object in the room that makes people ask questions.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Minor gilt wear consistent with age and entirely in keeping with its character.
