Masterfully hand-blown in Venice, Italy, during the mid-20th century, this striking centerpiece vessel is executed in a vibrant, highly saturated cerulean/peacock blue crystal.

This exceptional piece showcases the demanding vetro pesante (heavy glass) technique, weighing a substantial 5.3 pounds. It features a unique, globular silhouette accentuated by three tiers of hand-applied, clear glass rigaree (crimped ribbons) fused flawlessly to the upper shoulders and flared collar. The thick, premium crystal creates spectacular light refraction and depth.

The underside of the vessel provides impeccable proof of its authentic artisan heritage. The base features a slightly irregular, hand-polished satin finish over a deeply concave, ground pontil mark, demonstrating meticulously executed post-production cold work.

Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or internal water clouding. Shows very light, appropriate shelf wear to the satin-ground base rim consistent with age and careful display.
