A handsome pair of antique English Staffordshire Dalmatian dog figurines. The figurines mirror each other and rest on a cobalt blue base with gold trim. Each figurine is hand painted. As with most antique Staffordshire pieces, there is no makers mark. Very good condition.
Dalmatian dogs, with their distinctive spotted coats, have been a favored subject in decorative arts for centuries. Their inclusion in Staffordshire pottery reflects their popularity. Such figurines are still highly desired and have found a place as decorative accents in modern day homes.
