The crest gives this mirror its particular romance and historical character. At the center is a traditional Louis XVI emblem: a flaming torch crossed with arrows and bound with ribbon, surrounded by laurel leaves and a floral wreath. These motifs belong to the symbolic language of French neoclassicism, when decoration was never merely ornamental but carried meaning.
