This exceptional antique, silver-plated cocktail shaker features an intricate, deeply embossed repoussé design that delivers immediate elegance and style to any bar. Standing approximately 10 inches tall, this statuesque piece is stamped on the underside with maker’s mark likely attributed to E.G. Webster & Son of Brooklyn, NY (1186-1928)
Over decades of handling, the silver-plate has beautifully thinned over the high points of the ornate floral and scrollwork patterns, letting the warm, rich undertones of the underlying copper show through. This striking patina accentuates every detail of the relief carving, giving it incredible depth. Because the cork stoppers have shrunk over time and the copper is starting to show through, this piece is offered strictly as an antique decorative object, historic vignette accent, or luxury styling prop rather than a functional mixer.
With its highly detailed repoussé work, traditional lid, and provenance, this shaker is a compelling conversation starter for any classic bar, study, library bookshelf, or mantel display. The textured, relief-carved surface catches the light beautifully, showcasing the romance and theatrical flair of early 20th-century entertaining. It serves as the ultimate find for collectors who appreciate pieces that proudly display their age, history, and authentic craftsmanship.
