A charming pencil-signed original lithograph titled "Chamber Music" by the celebrated American painter Waldo Peirce (1884–1970). The scene captures two young children reaching up to the keys of an upright piano while a small dog tumbles playfully at their feet — open sheet music propped above them. It's tender, funny, and full of the warm domestic energy Peirce was known for. He created hundreds of pictures of family life, and this is one of his most endearing genre subjects.
Peirce was a true character of the American art world — a Harvard graduate, World War I ambulance driver alongside his friend Ernest Hemingway, and a bon vivant who spent years as a bohemian expatriate in Paris before settling in his native Maine. Sometimes called "the American Renoir," his work is held by the Whitney Museum, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the National Gallery of Art, among others.
This impression was issued as a signed limited edition through Associated American Artists, the influential New York print publisher that made original fine-art prints by leading American artists affordable to everyday collectors. The original AAA edition label remains adhered to the backing. Signed in pencil at the lower right. A lovely, collectible piece of mid-century American printmaking that brings instant charm and a little music to any room.

The verso shows expected age: the brown kraft backing paper is torn and chipped along the top edge with a few small holes, and the original Associated American Artists edition label is partially torn but still legible. Original hanging wire intact. Please review all photos; sold as-is. Note: I have not inspected the sheet out of the frame, so I cannot confirm the margins or any matting/tape on the reverse of the print itself. less
