Large mid-century carved fruitwood horse sculpture with applied brass and copper-toned metalwork, retaining a “Made in India” sticker to the underside. Executed in a Tang-horse inspired form, it reads as a ceremonial decorative object with strong graphic presence for eclectic, Hollywood Regency, or globally informed interiors.
The hand-carved body is dressed with layered metal bands, rosette medallions, shield-form plaques, and a studded saddle-blanket panel, with chain bridle detailing that adds texture and contrast. At 26 inches tall, it scales well for a console, mantel, or bookshelf vignette where a bold sculptural silhouette is desired.
• Material: Carved fruitwood with applied brass and copper-toned metal

• Country of Origin: India

Good vintage condition with attractive age-appropriate surface wear consistent with age and display, and a well-preserved overall form. Notable wear is present above the eyes, along with scattered rubs and finish wear across the body and raised areas; these read as honest handling wear and contribute to the piece’s patina. There is a spot of what appears to be paint on the inside of the bent leg, which may be able to be removed (see pictures). No structural breaks or repairs were discovered; please review photos for surface variation and patination.
