A stately pair of Regency style armchairs by Theodore Alexander. These exceptional chairs feature carved solid wood frames with highly detailed lion heads crowning the armposts, which flow down to acanthus leaf carvings and terminate in dramatic brass/bronze hairy paw feet with integrated casters.
The seats, sides, backs, and padded armrests are tightly upholstered in a rich, deeply burnished dark espresso brown leather that exhibits an subtle patina. The leather borders are tailored with brass nailhead trim. The rear legs sweep back gracefully in a classic sabre form on small brass casters, adding a beautiful counter to the powerful front stance.
