The modular "String" bookcase, designed by Nisse Strinning for String Design AB in the 1950s, is considered one of the icons of Scandinavian Modern. The lacquered metal frame supports adjustable shelves and a suspended teak cabinet with sliding doors, following the celebrated modular principle developed by Strinning: visual lightness, modularity, and domestic functionality. The balance between the wooden surfaces and the metal structure fully reflects the essential language of postwar Nordic design. Original manufacturer's label included. Good condition.
