French majolica commemorative plate with relief-molded center depicting Joan of Arc before a fortified tower, holding her battle standard, within a laurel wreath. Border inscribed Gloire, Honneur, Liberté, Patrie on ribbon banners with applied rosette medallions at four points.
Turquoise and ochre border, cream-ground central well.
Consistent with Lorraine/Alsace pottery production, circa 1880–1910 — Joan of Arc imagery surged after the Franco-Prussian War when Alsace-Lorraine was annexed by Germany.
Purchased from antique dealer in L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
Light crazing to center glaze, consistent with age. No chips or repairs.
