The set includes one large bowl for your delicious masterpiece and five small serving plates for your friends and family. The set was painted in a traditional bold red lacquer with intricately hand painted bird motifs! The birds appear to be puffed up cranes - super unique and cute! The undersides are a charcoal gray / black coloring. Lacquer is a clear or colored finish that dries by evaporation and produces a hard durable finish. The pieces are solid and well made.
