A beautifully preserved late 19th-century walnut dry sink showcasing Victorian-era craftsmanship and timeless character. Constructed of solid walnut, this substantial piece features richly carved drawer fronts, decorative side columns, and its original backsplash with tongue-and-groove construction.
Carefully restored to honor its history, the piece was thoroughly cleaned, structurally stabilized, and treated with multiple coats of hemp oil to nourish the wood and enhance the natural beauty of its grain and patina. Original square nails and flat-head screws remain visible throughout, offering authentic evidence of its age and construction.
New oil-rubbed bronze knobs have been installed for functionality and visual appeal; however, the original wooden knobs and screws will accompany the piece. The original locking mechanisms were removed prior to acquisition, and evidence of those alterations remains, consistent with the piece's long history of use.
As expected from a furniture piece that has survived for well over a century, signs of age, including surface wear, scratches, and minor imperfections, are present and contribute to its character and authenticity. These marks tell the story of a well-loved and enduring piece rather than detract from its appeal.
Likely American-made, this antique dry sink offers both historical significance and practical versatility, making it an exceptional addition to a traditional, farmhouse, Victorian, or collected interior.
