The … Read more This is a Henkel Harris Model No. 2207 double pedestal dining table in genuine mahogany, handcrafted in Winchester, Virginia. The original factory label remains fixed beneath the top and reads Genuine Mahogany, Style No. 2207, Finish No. 29, dated September 17, 1996. Finish No. 29 is Henkel Harris's Classic Henkel Mahogany, the signature finish of this Virginia workshop. The top is cathedral-figured mahogany framed by a ribbon-stripe satinwood border with inlay banding and a reeded edge, the detailing that distinguishes Henkel Harris from ordinary Georgian and Duncan Phyfe style reproduction furniture. All three original 16-inch leaves are included, numbered and matched to this table. The table measures 72 inches long closed, 46 inches wide, and 29.5 inches high, and extends to a full 120 inches with all three leaves in place, comfortably seating ten to twelve guests. The factory label indicates the top and leaves were originally supplied without pedestals, and the history of the present pedestals is not documented. They are precisely in the 2207 style, with a reeded urn form, three swept legs, and cast brass paw toe caps, and they have been newly and solidly fitted with fresh mounting hardware, but I cannot verify them as original Henkel Harris production and the table is priced accordingly.
