The central oval frame is surrounded by an elaborate decorative scheme in the Rocaille style. The upper section features an asymmetrical design with large scrolls, vine tendrils, shortened acanthus leaves, and stylized shell motifs. The lower apron, serving as a visual counterpoint, is adorned with foliage motifs that conceal the attachment points of the two arms. At the center is a period mercury mirror enclosed by an internal beaded molding. Provenance: Rome, late 17th century. General Condition: Good. Dimensions: 55 x 30 x 70 cm.
