this painting finds a precise reference in the canvas held at the museum of fine arts of la rochelle, published on page 159, photo 24, of the monograph by m. Heimburger, bernardo keilhau known as monsù bernardo. After receiving his first artistic instruction from the dane morten van steenwinkel, bernhard entered rembrandt's workshop in amsterdam.
