A harlequin set of chairs is a carefully assembled group of antique chairs that, while not originally made as a single set, are closely matched in design, age, timber, and overall appearance. Such sets became increasingly common as complete original dining sets grew difficult to find, allowing collectors and homeowners to enjoy the elegance of a larger period dining arrangement. When selected with care, a quality harlequin set offers all the charm, character, and practicality of a matched set, whilst often representing excellent value compared to a rare, entirely original suite of chairs.

This harlequin set of 10 chairs consists of two sets of similar chairs, one set of 6 and one set of 4, which have many similarities and work really well together. Clearly they have spent the majority of their lives together with them retaining the same rich colour and timber along with being upholstered in the same materials. There are just a few minor design and size differences between the sets, but nothing really major to speak of and they would look great around a big table. 

As with all items which we offer for sale this set of 10 chairs have been inspected at our workshops by our highly skilled antique furniture restorers, ensuring they are ready for immediate placement following purchase.
