Originally made of leather (cow, buffalo, or elephant), these shields evolved in the 1950s, incorporating models made of hammered metal, like the one offered here.
We love the embossed design, which gives the shield a beautiful overall look. It shows signs of wear and tear, with a rust-colored patina in places.
The shield can be hung on the wall—as shown here—using the hook on the back (the same one that originally held the shield in place).
