brand alba docilia, albissola marina (savona). The factory was founded in 1919 by adolfo rossello with a group of partners and took its name from the ancient roman place name albisola. Beginning in 1922, it participated in national and international exhibitions (the milan fair, the monza biennale, and exhibitions in tripoli, leipzig, vienna, rome, and florence). Among the collaborating ceramic artists were, among others, virio da savona, guglielmo bozzano, romeo bevilacqua, carlo frumento, amleto modolo, and ivos pacetti. The production focused on the forms and decorations of the ligurian ceramic tradition, with particular emphasis on blue-and-white majolica of savona origin.
