The Panschenhagen Pottery in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, was founded in 1988 by ceramicist Friedemann Henschel (born 1953) and his wife Sylvia. They converted a historic manor house dating from 1876 into a workshop. The pottery studio is known for its hand-thrown, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Mugs, vases, and jugs are entirely handmade: each piece is individually thrown on the potter’s wheel. The collection consists exclusively of one-of-a-kind pieces and small series, which are fired in various kilns.

Typical of the vessels are organic forms, often featuring fantastical motifs or figurative scenes, and richly painted with details from surreal to fairy-tale worlds.
