In his trademark natural clay and rustic style, Kostanda created beautifully original vessels, such as vases, pitchers and pots which were at the same time, utilitarian and stunning works of art. Tactile and visually alluring, these pieces are collected internationally by devotees of Kostanda, one of the founders of the Accolay workshops. This piece is inspired by African and pre-Columbian visual references in their earthy oxides of iron brown and ochre. In good overall condition. The elegant yet small opening would suit two or three beautiful flowers. Signed on the underside: 'A. Kostanda, Vallauris' along with an impressed maker's mark.
