Large ceramic dish designed by Karl Niemann for Kähler in Denmark, dated 1954.
The dish features a hand-painted figurative decoration with stylized figures and floral motifs rendered in expressive brushwork and soft green glaze tones.
The composition reflects Scandinavian modernist studio ceramics with clear expressionist influences.
Karl Niemann produced some of the most painterly ceramic works associated with Kähler during the postwar decades.
Very good vintage condition with beautiful handmade surface character and glaze variation. This piece has an attribution mark,
