This pair of antique smaller cabinets from Italy each have a slightly overhanging top above the case beneath which houses a single drawer at top (fitted with a lion's head ring pull at center), over a single door below which opens to reveal storage within. Decorative gold/bronze mounts flank either top side of the door on the front side rails. Lines are clean and linear throughout, and the chests are raised upon gently tapered, squared legs. The wood has a lovely old patina throughout. Backsides remain un-decorated so best use would be up against a wall. This pair of 19th century Italian side chests would be beautiful as nightstands to a bedroom, or end tables complimenting a seating arrangement. See less
