More evidence that the French made the best furniture extant, this 1880s Louis XVI style marble top mahogany buffet or enfilade as they say in France, 4 drawers over 4 doors , 2 of each curved side doors (1 slightly sprung on the bottom), worn 23k gold plated bronze mounts throughout all standing on 4 tapered legs with bronze clad feet. Marble top is inset in the wood trim. Bronze friezes on the drawers, lozenges and swags on the doors, heavy bronze pulls, hand dovetailed joinery of the white oak carcass woods meeting the mahogany front woods.
Shown here in 'as found' condition-the entire piece will be hand waxed to a soft glow.
