In fact, when you look closely at small scratches, you can see the shiny metal beneath, suggesting the original owner had the base professionally painted at some point. The table's quality is consistent with the Knoll collection, and the overall presence is unmistakably in line with Platner’s vision of merging modernism with a touch of ornament.
