Circa 1900, … Read more This is a beautiful Antique Chinese Nephrite Jade Guanyin / Kwan Yin Figurine with hand carved rosewood stand. Circa 1900, late Qing Dynasty, excellent condition as noted. It's beautiful and glossy, but it tipped over and has been repaired at the neck. Not very noticeable, see all closeup angles. This was carved from one piece of very desirable, natural jade, that has a lovely translucency and is very monochromatic. Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, symbolizes unconditional love, mercy, and salvation. Her name translates to "The One Who Hears the Cries of the World", reflecting her role as a savior who postpones her own enlightenment to alleviate all sentient suffering. She is a very famous archetype internationally. She has a peaceful expression, a detailed necklace expressing her high deity, is carrying a cup and mala beads (prayer / meditation necklace) and is wearing a beautifully draped, flowing robe. She is 10.5" tall and weighs 2lb 14.5oz. On her stand, she is 11.75" x 3.75" x 3". See less
