An original vintage Balans Variable kneeling chair manufactured by Westnofa of Norway. Introduced in the 1970s, the Balans Variable became one of the most influential ergonomic seating designs ever produced, redefining the relationship between posture, movement, and comfort. Featuring a sculptural bentwood frame and original red upholstered cushions. The gently curved runners encourage natural movement while the kneeling position promotes an open hip angle and active sitting posture. A Westnofa manufacturer’s label remains attached, identifying it as an authentic Norwegian-produced example. Vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use; would benefit from new upholstery.
