The deeply curved saddle seat is hand-carved from solid wood and fitted to a four-legged splayed base with cross-stretcher, assembled with traditional wooden pegs throughout — no hardware, no shortcuts. The ebonized surface has developed a rich, velvety patina over more than a century of handling, and the seat shows the particular worn texture that comes only from genuine age and use.
Small in scale and large in presence. The compact footprint — 11 inches long, 5 inches wide, 3 inches tall — makes this an exceptionally versatile accent: a plant stand, a display plinth, a side table in miniature. It sits equally well in a primitive, wabi-sabi, or contemporary interior and holds its ground in all of them.
