Incredible 1960’s Brazilian Rosewood 17 drawer chest designed by Svend Age Madsen for Falster of Denmark. Svend Åge Madsen is a renowned mid-century Danish designer famous for his clean, organic Scandinavian designs. During the 1960s, he partnered with Falster Møbelfabrik to create highly sought-after, premium teak and rosewood case pieces.
The chest features 8 drawers with sculpted handles on the left side and a tambour door that conceals nine additional pull out drawers on the right side. Three top drawers have divided compartments. Beautifully dovetailed entirely. The chest is also completely finished on all sides where it could be placed as a room divider. The chest sits on sculpted tapered legs. The Brazilian rosewood graining is outstanding! We have a matching 13 drawer dresser - credenza available in our Chairish shop as well. No manufacturer label present.
