I paint in the traditional style of the old masters because I am drawn to the profound charisma and quiet gravity of that era. For me, creating art is a patient ritual. At the heart of my process is the careful, deliberate preparation of the painting surface. Ultimately my goal is for the person living or viewing my work to experience a pause from the modern world, bringing them into a deeper more intimate understanding of beauty.
