With timeless floral design and a traditional color palette, this hand knotted wool antique Persian Malayer rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The abrashed brick red field features an open floral medallion surrounded by an all-over botanical garden scene composed of opulent frondescence, floral bouquets with blooming palmettes, leafy tendrils, rosettes, hyacinth blossoms, and delicate floral sprigs. It is enclosed with an elaborate palmette border flanked with an inner and outer carnation meander guard bands. Rendered in variegated shades of brick red, ink blue, coffee, rust, navy blue, brown, and cerulean with other accent colors. Moth damage; it has been treated, but not repaired. Abrash.
