Oil painting on board of a man by the artist Thomas Reaney. Titled “The Hired Man”. Hints of Picasso with a warm palette of colors. Very stunning. The wooden framing is fabulous and really adds to the feel of this work. *

Thomas A Reaney was born in Canada in 1916. He studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, MI. during the early 30's. Exhibited at the Denver Museum, Joslyn Museum in Omaha, NE., Detroit Institute of Arts, Museum at Claremont, CA.. Colorado Fine Arts Center, Colo. Springs, CO.
Moved to Colorado Springs, CO. around 1945, where he worked with Boardman Robinson. Reaney, whose paintings are in private collections throughout the United States, in Canada, and in Europe, worked in oils and preferred landscapes and figure studies as his subjects. *
