The lid centers a geometric star medallion framed by a narrow band of stylized leaf‑and‑vine motifs. The inlay is hand‑cut and hand‑set, reflecting the meticulous workshop craftsmanship characteristic of traditional Middle Eastern marquetry. Iridescent shell tiles continue across each faceted side, creating a shifting interplay of color and light that gives the box a jewel‑like presence.

The interior is lined in deep red fabric, offering a rich contrast to the iridescent exterior. The underside is finished in a coordinating red panel and set on small mother‑of‑pearl feet secured with tiny metal pins.
