This is a lovely pair of antique Stafforshire in a sweet design that is very hard to find and is … Read more This is a lovely pair of antique Stafforshire in a sweet design that is very hard to find and is hand-painted in brilliant, bright colors of chartreuse, pink and green. Staffordshire zebras are some of the most prized Staffordshire collectibles, and these are likely a 19th century antique and probably close to 140 years old, so they do have some (minimal!) age-appropriate paint loss, and one has been broken and repaired at the neck.
These would be lovely in an English country decor, perched on a mantel or shelf, in a study or office, and would make a thoughtful gift to anyone who collects Staffordshire pieces. They are very whimsical and would also be sweet if made into little lamps! They happens to be similar to the design that Brunschwig et Fils used in their iconic “Gillian’s Zebras” design so they would also be perfect in a space that uses that fabric.
