Diane Haber was an American fine artist active during the late 20th century, particularly known for her versatile work in abstract painting, mixed media, and printmaking. She passed away in 2005, leaving behind an artistic legacy heavily tied to the Pennsylvania region, with much of her work now residing in private collections.
Artistic Mediums and Style
Abstract Paintings: Much of her late-career output featured acrylic and mixed media abstract compositions. These works were noted for dynamic color palettes, frequently painted on unconventional surfaces like round canvases.Intaglio
Known for her printmaking: Haber was highly regarded for her mastery of intaglio printmaking. An example of her work in this technical medium includes a detailed, vintage early-1980s piece titled "Cherubs".Regional Landscapes: She utilized oil and paper to create abstract-surreal representations of urban landscapes. Her notable works in this genre include "Pittsburgh at Night" and "Pittsburgh II".
Diane graduated in Fine Arts from Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon and went on to show in New York and Pennsylvania and designing fabric pattern for Leslie Fay.
