A handsome pair of American mid-century modern walnut chests by Kent Coffey from the “The Sequence” collection, circa 1960s. Measuring 30.5 inches high, 36 inches wide, and 20 inches deep, each cabinet features three drawers with distinctive vertical brushed metal pulls. Rich walnut veneers are complemented by sculptural ebonized bases with tapered legs and brass-capped feet, creating a refined and timeless silhouette.
Well-crafted and highly functional, the drawers retain their original dovetail construction and operate smoothly, making these pieces ideal as oversized nightstands, bachelor chests, or accent cabinets.
Recently lightly polished, this pair is presented in good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. The walnut veneers display natural variations in grain and color, including some tonal differences between drawer fronts, most notably on one upper drawer where the wood exhibits a slightly lighter hue. These variations are inherent to the materials and contribute to the character of the pieces.
As part of 145 Antiques’ carefully curated collection of fine mid-century furnishings, this exceptional pair has been selected for its quality craftsmanship, timeless design, and enduring decorative appeal.
