Classic cast base bistro tables, completely original except one has been overpainted black at some stage. The tops are a type of crude resin encased in the original formed aluminium surround. The bases are branded Fischel and actually the sub structure that holds the tops is superb. Rare to find such an original pair. Fischel was founded in 1871 by Czech born David Gabriel Fischel, a successful vegetable oil merchant, using the first hand knowledge of his eldest son who had worked in one of Thonets Czech factories. First production was made in Germany in Niemes near the Danube. Later production moved to France in Alsace and sales offices were opened in most major French cities as Fischel became a major producer. The tables are in excellent condition our workshop has simply cleaned them that is all.
