A charming antique cherub vanity dish featuring a cobalt blue hand-blown glass insert within an ornate gilt metal mount embellished with floral elements, faux seed pearls, and paste rhinestones.
The vivid cobalt insert displays beautiful hand-worked character with a softly irregular form, wavy rim, and variations typical of early hand-finished glass. A standing cherub overlooks the bowl while delicate floral sprays and sparkling accents create a romantic decorative presentation.
The removable glass insert measures approximately 2½ inches by 2 inches. Overall measurements are approximately 4¾ inches across and 2¼ inches high.
Condition: Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear to the gilt finish and decorative elements. The cobalt glass insert is removable and displays the irregularities and waviness expected of hand-worked glass. The decorative gilt metal mount is exceptionally delicate and does not fit perfectly around the glass insert. It appears the insert has likely been removed for cleaning and handling throughout its lifetime, resulting in slight irregularity to the surrounding metalwork. The piece remains structurally sound, displays beautifully, and should be handled with care.
