I believe even the … Read more Nice antique American early 19th century canopy bed with nicely turned posts and a pine headboard. I believe even the canopy frame is original. As is the case with almost all antique beds this will need a custom spring and mattress. Sizes were standardized until the 20th century. Bed was refinished probably 50 years ago. There is wear to the finish on the headboard as can be seen in the photos. 1 bed bold cover is missing on the headboard. This is a decorative items made of stamped brass. Normally they are all missing if they ever had any to begin with. Bed stands 83" tall and is 54 1/2" wide overall and 79 1/2" long overall. Inside the rails the opening is 48 1/4" by 72 1/2".
