Bring authentic early 20th century Tavern Americana into your home with this antique wooden game table, sourced from our hometown pool hall. The town was established in 1899.
This utilitarian piece perfectly balances rugged industrial charm with classic architectural details, making it a standout addition to any game room, den, or eclectic living space.
The table features a solid wood frame with naturally distressed patina that tells a story of decades of use.
A built-in, triangular recessed lower cubby runs beneath the tabletop, used by players to stash poker chips, card decks, and for your wet drinks to be off the playing surface.
The top showcases an original solid wood bead board with natural finish, while the legs display an authentic weathered texture thru layers of black and green paint with exposed oak wood. The red composite board has been used on the top for over 20 years recently removed to showcase the solid wood beadboard underneath. The nails left are from securing the composite board which can be removed or hammered down. I provided a photo with the worn painted composite for you to decide if you'd like it or not.
The heavily distressed finish, minor scuffs, and paint loss are intentional elements of its rustic, industrial patina and do not compromise structural integrity. There is a missing trim piece to one shelf which does not affect function.
The structural, sweeping arches under the tabletop mirror the classic woodwork popular in American saloons, taverns, and billiard halls during the late 19th-early 20th century.
The paint loss reveals layers of older finish to the reveal the oak wood legs underneath, which is consistent with furniture that has undergone decades of heavy use and sporadic repainting.
