The body of the snake winds across natural linen in intricate beadwork — precise, unhurried, the kind of work that takes the time it takes and cannot be rushed. Then at the head, the surface breaks. Trapunto — the Italian raised quilting technique — lifts the snake's head off the plane of the pillow entirely, giving it dimension, presence, the suggestion of movement. Flat becomes sculptural. Textile becomes creature.
