Magnificent carved velvet with a dominant linen pattern of Hungarian stitch, characteristic of the 17th century.

Above is the description provided by Pierre Frey….Now my interpretation- Fabulous woven pattern. For those interested, A Hungarian stitch is one of the oldest needlepoint techniques and employs three long stitches combined with two shorter ones to deliver, roughly, a diamond shaped result. Very intricate.

The end pattern gives a Missoni inspired reinvented flame stitch of sorts. Mesmerized.
Shades of rose, red, green, yellow….

As an aside, this is by far the most costly fabric in my inventory. I feel somewhat compelled (but not too much) to apologize for the pricing. But recently through an odd set of events, I found myself in a factory on the border of Belgium and France. Pierre Frey fabrics (as well as some being crafted for The Orient Express) were on their looms and I was captivated. Pricey…for sure…..worth it…no question.

This listing is for a pair of plush down filled pillows. They will be crafted using Pierre Frey Budapest in Carmine on the front. The back will be a complementary plush blush rose velvet. Closure will be by way of invisible zipper. See less
