A ceramic wall plaque by Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker (1921-2010). Made in Germany, this rectangular plaque features an organic design in brown, black, beige, and white. The plaque is marked "Schäffenacke" to the verso as well as "N12."
Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker completed an apprenticeship with sculptor Rudolf Pauschinger before opening his own studio "Atelier Schäffenacker." During the second half of the 1950s, Schäffenacker shifted his focus to making ceramic wall panels, primarily with figurative motifs in relief. Schäffenacker continued to create until 1993, when his kiln fell into disrepair.
